Dru and I started YoinkAdventures.com on August 5, 2019. I put up $7,500 in seed money, and Dru took on the task of getting the app built.
Our first attempt was a bust. We hired a developer who delivered almost nothing and still managed to take all of the money. Undeterred, Dru found a company called Spirit. Their work was far better, but painfully slow—and the structure would have left them effectively owning the site once it was finished.
Fortunately, timing and technology finally worked in our favor. Advances in tools and AI now make it possible for Dru to build the app himself.
As of December 2025, the app is shaping up extremely well. And with just a single Reddit post,
20 people have already signed up—many of them actively posting.
